patience pays off
Jackfruit, one of my mom's favorites, was planted as a special reminder of her. In fact, all the fruit trees I've planted serve as a tribute to her love for fruits, a passion she lovingly passed down to me.
The mangoes are thriving, and with all five trees in the garden, the small fruits are emerging, although they still need time to grow bigger and heavier. As I strolled around, I admired their unique shapes, hanging like curtains throughout the garden.
This is my mom's all-time favorite, and I’m fascinated by the abundance of rose apples, resembling red bells dangling from the branches. I tried one, but it wasn't very sweet since they weren't quite ripe yet. I picked the ones that were more red to take home. Every time I visit her, I make sure to bring a batch of rose apples as a special treat for my mom.
Mangoes are a staple on our dining table, and we always enjoy slicing them in half. When we share, I typically end up with the middle part that contains the seed, while my siblings choose the two sides. I’m perfectly fine with that! I believe that the way I’ve shared in the past has now turned into a wonderful harvest for me.
Patience pays off! Now, I'm eagerly anticipating the upcoming harvest of longans, durians, and custard apples, which are just about to bloom and be ready for picking.
