art auction 2024

It was one wonderful night and though the size of the room was small, it was cozy enough to fill in some of the art pieces we created during the school year. I was very surprised at how the installation looked so professional with the lights and music on. We were able to showcase the best pieces I believed were worth selling coming from my class of 4 years old.

The parents were gathered around and busily chatting with each other anticipating how much the bids were going to be for each artwork. It started with a thousand in the beginning until the prices rose higher and higher in value.

I placed one of the pieces on the floor as it talked about the discovery of worms by the children. It was inspired by a photograph and then transferred to canvas with acrylic and mixed-media.

This is a special piece that was an accidental art that conveyed how minor mistakes became big in the eyes of people. It showed how we looked at the faults of others rather than lift others to glory.

The natural leaves gathered in the garden became the focal material for this wonderful art work. There were stories drawn on each leaf depicting daily experiences of the children.

And the most promising piece showing how gold and red in a black canvas can give glory to a landscape that either talked about religion or gives an emotional response. It was the highest bid art piece for the evening amongst 40 other art pieces.

Kudos to the children who created them!
