Insta posts

I have been posting on Instagram for years, three to be exact, and I have met new friends and rekindled older ones. I am happy to add to my roster of close friends someone from Russia who is staying in Spain, an Italian man who constantly sends me messages, an American who is always around to exchange hellos, nice friends from the  Philippines, and some other friends from Austria, Australia, UK, Thailand, USA, France, and other European countries.

My posts are mostly about my garden's flowers, visits to the countryside, or the garden centres. I am practicing to be a better photographer using my mobile phone with some tweaking such as light, exposure, and intensity of colour.  I also have photos of my travels: lakes, rivers, seas, waterfalls, and gardens. I also feature insects in my house or elsewhere, such as butterflies, praying mantises, ladybugs, and my favorite subject - dragonflies.

My most liked subject was a leaf, a caladium of different colors. I lost the bulb already, so I am looking for another one. Quite a hard find, but I am doing so. Caladiums sleep during the winter season, and I thought I took care of them this year, but I see nothing back as of springtime.

Why do I post on Instagram? One main reason is that I wanted a venue for my interest in gardening. Another reason is that I would like to find people to share experiences and stories. I talk to no one at home and find chatting with uninterested people taxing.

I gave up many times and told myself I won't be posting again, but after some time, I am back. The longest rest was two weeks, but I miss posting and reading comments from friends. Someone told me I have so many plants at home, but little do they know that only half of the plants in my house were featured on Instagram. Anyway, I am perfecting my craft of photographing, editing, finding subjects, and writing. I will be there for some time.
