A Mysterious Place

Fifteen kilometres northeast of the town of Phrae is Phae Muang Phi Forest Park, a large area of barren land of approximately 167 rais, renowned for its distinctive rock formations due to a natural process of soil erosion.  Apart from the famous mushroom rocks, there are cliffs and pillars and other shapes as well, with some rising 20 metres or more above the surrounding land. It is indeed amazing how nature's imperfections become a natural tourist attraction for many.  Known to be ghost-inhabited before, this is now a well-known attraction in Phrae.

This is truly amazing and interesting about mother nature! I stared at your photos and my imaginations ran wild to think how Grand Canyon could be like many thousand years ago. Is this place a popular spot with Thais and tourists alike?

Hi, it wasn't until people shrugged the rumour of this place being a haunted one. There were a lot of people when I visited but I photoshopped them, ha,ha,ha! Now it looked mysterious. I was wondering how it looks like at night, must be very creepy.
